Physical Education
Mission Statement: St. Charles CUSD 303 Elementary Physical Education provides the foundation in developing inclusive practices along with lifelong physical, mental, and emotional skills, as well as the basic knowledge of the wellness needed to embrace a healthy lifestyle. Our curriculum, aligned with Illinois State and National Standards, serves as a guide for teachers and schools, emphasizing lifelong fitness, responsible decision-making, and a love of movement while preparing students to thrive in an ever-changing world.
Program focus: Physical education is an integral component of the CUSD 303 Elementary Schools. Our instruction is guided by Illinois Physical Education Wellness Standards and SHAPE America National Standards. We believe:
- All students should have access to a quality physical education program.
- Physical activity improves academic achievement.
- Physical education develops expected social skills.
- Physical education should expose students to a variety of physical activities.
- All students can improve skills, fitness, and knowledge.
- All students should be safe.
- All students can demonstrate good sportsmanship.
